Final Output to Tape
Check your Sequence Timecode
In your sequence, there should be no content prior to picture start (no black, bars, countdowns, etc). Your picture start should be at 01:00:00.00. Final Cut Pro defaults to this setting, but if you need to change it highlight your sequence in the browser and click:
Sequence > Settings > Timeline Options and change the sequence time to 1:00:00:00
Output your Sequence to Tape (see fcp help page 429 for more info)
Highlight your sequence to output in bin and click File > Edit to Tape
* Click Mastering Settings Tab
* Deselect all leader info
* Print – Entire Media
* Check “Trailer” and enter 60 seconds
* Click Mastering Settings Tab
* Select Color Bars 45 seconds
* Select Slate 5 seconds
* Select Countdown (10seconds)

NOTE: the total time of the bars, slate, and countdown = 60 seconds that must be subtracted from 1:00:00:00 (that is the start time of the timeline) when setting the inpoint on the edit to tape tool in the next window. 1:00:00:00 minus 60 seconds = 59:00:00:00
* Click Video Tab
* Enter in the Time Code 59:00:00:00 (NDF) to start the edit of the sequence to the tape

Click on sequence to be output in the bin so that the color bars appear in the “Edit to Tape” window and then drag the sequence
to the window so that the edit overlay appears and release the sequence on the “Insert” section of the “Edit Overlay” window.

Click OK to start the output to tape. Check to make sure that the output is timecode accurate.
Bars and Tone begin at 59:00:00
2 pop is at 59:58:00 (2seconds before program start)
Program start is at 1:00:00:0
