This worksheet will assist you in Converting your Sanyo Xacti High Definition (HD) footage into an editable format.

1) Connect your Xacti camera, or the card reader with the card in it to the computer via a USB port. You can find USB ports on the rear-right side of an iMac.

2) Create a folder for your footage on the Desktop. Click ‘File > New Folder’ (or Shift+Command+N). Label this folder.

3) Open the card icon on the desktop and navigate to your footage. It is most likely in ‘Xacti > DCIM > 100SANYO > [YOUR FOOTAGE].’

10) Next, we will be asked where you want to save the files. Click on the ‘tempstorage’ drive on the left of the window and click the New Folder button on the bottom of the window. Name the new folder with your name, and click Select.

11) The next window gives you quality options.

a. For Compression, choose the Apple Intermediate Codec.

b. Up the Quality to 100%.

d. Click Go in the Batch List window. Depending on how much footage you have, this might take a little while. Now is an excellent time to get a cup of coffee or get reacquainted with the outdoors.

When the batch list function has completed, your footage is now in a workable format. You can find it in the folder you created on the tempstorage drive.

12) Open your editing program of choice and ‘File > Import’ the footage you just created.

Happy Editing!
