Recording with Adobe Audition:

1) Log in using your UT EID

2) Double click the Adobe Audition icon on the desktop

- If the computer asks you to save to your largest Hard Drive, the default is perfect, so click ‘Yes.’

3) Turn on the TALKBACK MIC – slider #1 (yellow light). Make sure the PC – slider #9 is off (red light).

4) Use Audio board headphones to set your voice levels using board meters.

5) Click the RED record icon in the lower left.

6) You will be prompted to set a new waveform:

  • Sample Rate = 48000
  • Channels = Stereo
  • Resolution = 16 Bit

- Then click OK. You will IMMEDIATELY begin recording.

7) Now, using your audio board sliders, Re-adjust ALL your audio levels, this time using the AUDITION meters as your guide (the meters at the bottom of the computer screen).

8) When finished recording hit the “STOP” button lower left of the screen.

9) Save your audio clip to the desktop with a .WAV extension

10) You can now easily record another track by clicking: File – New - O.K.

And then clicking “record” to start again.

11) When you’re done recording, copy your audio files to your designated place in the appropriate class shares folder. You can find the class shares in the ‘My Computer’ icon on the desktop.

When finished all your recording press “OFF” on ALL sliders on the AUDIO BOARD

- (ALL RED lights – No yellow lights)
