Staff Merit Award Qualifications

Each month except December the College of Communication recognizes an outstanding member of the staff that excels in or goes beyond their job description to distinguish themselves. The award winner will be provided a check for $100 and a reserved parking space under the building for the month he or she is selected. Nominations may be made by College faculty, staff, students and/or outside individuals.

Nominations are accepted at any time during the year.

To be eligible for the nomination, the staff member must meet the following criteria:

  1. The nominee must be a current classified staff member in a College of Communication department or administrative unit.
  2. The nominee must be employed at least 50% time or more.
  3. The nominee must have been employed at least one (1) year with the College.
  4. Award may be received only once within a 12-month period. The Committee will check each nomination to make sure he/she meets all the criteria.

To nominate someone, complete this nomination form and send a letter of support, providing specific examples why this individual should be considered for the Monthly Staff Merit Award to Aida Gonzalez, 471-1935, chair, Staff Merit Committee.
