Room Use Policies

These rooms may only be used by Faculty, Staff, and Registered Student Organizations within the College of Communication. Graduate students may request these rooms for their dissertation and defense meetings. Graduate students should work with their department in making a reservation as an account number is needed to secure the room.

Reservations may not be requested by undergraduate students, or for non-College sponsored functions, or by non-College student groups.

Burson Conference Room, CMA 4.128 and Lady Bird Johnson Room, CMA 5.160

These rooms are only available during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Food and drink is NOT allowed in the room.

A University of Texas at Austin account number must be provided to the Dean’s Office. Once this account number is received, we will then review your request for usage of the room. Requests for this room are reviewed daily.

No organized or regular classes, no student groups or organizations.

The individual requesting the room is responsible for the condition and proper use of the room. Clean up and return room to original setup before leaving. Trash cans must be emptied and set outside the door if they are full. No tapes, nails, hooks, etc., may be placed on the walls. It is imperative that the room be returned to its original condition in preparation for the next user. All chairs, tables, and equipment must be wiped down and returned to their original locations. Please turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the key to the Dean’s Office Receptionist in CMA 4.130 after the event.

The room key must be picked up prior to the event in the Dean’s Office, CMA 4.130, and returned following the event’s completion and cleanup. No overnight checkouts. If the event takes place until 5:00 p.m., the key must be returned to the Dean’s Office receptionist at 5:00 p.m. Please plan accordingly.

Multipurpose Room, CMA 7.208

The individual requesting the room is responsible for the condition and proper use of the room. No organized or regular classes. Clean up and return furniture to original setup. Food may be served in this room. No equipment is guaranteed for use with this room, unless it is listed on the room description page with the room layout. No tape, nails, hooks, etc., may be placed on the walls. The room key must be picked up prior to the event in the Dean’s Office, CMA 4.130, and returned following the event’s completion and cleanup. For after hours and weekend reservations, the key may be picked up in the Dean’s Office, CMA 4.130, Monday through Friday before 4:30 pm, and must be returned the following weekday morning by 8:30 am.

CMA Classrooms

The individual requesting the room is responsible for the condition and proper use of the room. For use by College of Communication faculty, staff, sponsored events, or registered student organizations. Clean up and return furniture to original set up before leaving. Regularly scheduled classes take precedence over all other requests for these rooms.

Patio, CMA 3rd Floor between CMA and CMC

The individual requesting the patio is responsible for its condition and proper use. For use by College of Communication sponsored events or registered student organizations. Clean up and return furniture to original setup. Food may be served. To arrange for tables and chairs, please contact Physical Plant, or your department.
