Visiting the College
Information Sessions
We would like to encourage you, as a future freshman or transfer students, to attend one of our Information Sessions to learn more about our college.
These Information Sessions are led by our Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Darrell Rocha, and some of our academic advisors. Dean Rocha and our advisors will talk with you about the College's six areas of study, career possibilities, academic resources and campus life. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session so that you can ask any specific questions that you may have.
The sign up for an Information Session, visit the Campus Visits page of Be A Longhorn and select the session type: Communication Information Session.
Tours
At this time, the College of Communication does not offer organized tours of our facilities. However, the Department of Radio-Television-Film has walking tours of its labs and studios. These tours are offered on the same days as the Information Sessions (above). The sign up for the RTF tour, visit the Campus Visits page of Be A Longhorn and select the session type: Radio-Television-Film Tour.
Future students should try to participate in a campus tour offered by the Office of Admissions. These tours are led by UT students and are a great way to find out about campus life, academic programs, student services, and campus resources. These tours are offered as part of the Freshman Admission Center’s campus visit program, which also includes an information session and a Q&A with current UT students.
Future Student Programs
The Office of Admissions hosts a variety of events for future Longhorns. You can visit with College of Communication staff members at Discover UT and Longhorn Saturdays.
High School students who are interested in media production can also attend RTF Media Camp or Texas Student Television workshops.
