Radio-TV-Film Professor’s Public Affairs Show To Air Retrospective on Governor Ann Richards

AUSTIN, Texas – Feb. 19, 2007 – University of Texas at Austin Radio-Television-Film professor and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Paul Stekler’s public affairs series “Special Session” will examine the life of Governor Ann Richards with a short documentary, featuring never-seen-before footage and interviews.

The episode will air in Austin on KLRU-TV, Austin PBS, at 11 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 25 and again on KLRU2 at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28.

This very personal portrait is followed by a discussion with people who knew her and covered her political career: Mary Beth Rogers, her former chief of staff; Chuck McDonald, her press spokesman; and Wayne Slater, longtime political writer for The Dallas Morning News. The short film will reveal a side of Governor Richards she kept private.
