Austin Film Society Celebration and Job Fair, Jan. 30
Event: The Austin Film Society is hosting Make Watch Love Film Party, a grand re-opening party for the newly renovated Austin Studios. The event will feature a job fair with some of Austin’s top film, video, digital and game companies, followed by a party.
This event, which is sponsored in part by the Department of Radio-TV-Film, is free to all University of Texas at Austin students (bring your student ID).
When: 6-10 p.m., Jan. 30, 2009
Where: Austin Studios, Stage 5, 1901 E. 51st St.
Background: The Austin Film Society is a non-profit organization that promotes the appreciation of film and supports creative filmmaking by: Showing films and hosting premieres, managing Austin Studios, a 100,000 square foot film production facility in central Austin, awarding grants and supporting filmmakers, teaching kids and adults about filmmaking, and presenting the annual Texas Film Hall of Fame awards to raise funds for all the above.
