NPR Journalist to present “Listening to America in an Election Year: Did the Press Get it Right?,” Nov. 20

Event: Award-winning journalist, co-host of National Public Radio’s (NPR) “All Things Considered,” and 2008 Mary Alice Davis Distinguished Lecturer Michele Norris will present “Listening to America in an Election Year: Did the Press Get it Right?”

Background: Norris began co-hosting public radio’s longest-running national program, with Robert Siegel and Melissa Block, in December 2002. Prior to that she was a correspondent for ABC News where she was a contributing correspondent for the “Closer Look” segments on “World News Tonight” with Peter Jennings. Before that, Norris reported for the “Washington Post,” “Chicago Tribune” and “Los Angeles Times.”

A four-time Pulitzer Prize entrant, Norris has received numerous awards for her work, including the National Association of Black Journalists’ 2006 Salute to Excellence Award for her coverage of Hurricane Katrina, and an Emmy Award and a Peabody Awards for her contribution to ABC News’ coverage of 9/11. She is also a frequent guest on The Chris Matthews Show on MSNBC. A complete bio is available online.
