Animator Don Hertzfeldt to speak to digital media master class students, Oct. 13

Event: Don Hertzfeldt, creator of many short animated films, including the Academy-Award nominated cult favorite “Rejected,” will speak on campus as part of the fall 2008 Master Class in Digital Media.

When: 5:30 p.m., Oct. 13, 2008

Where: Studio 4D, in the CMB Building

Background: Collectively, Hertzfeldt’s animated films have received more than one hundred awards and have been presented in more than one thousand film festivals and venues worldwide. Before the age of thirty, his films were already the subject of several career retrospectives. The popularity of his work is unprecedented in the history of independent animation and his films are frequently quoted and referenced in pop culture.

Hertzfeldt is one of the featured guest lecturers in Geoff Marslett’s fall 2008 Master Class in Digital Media, which takes place at 5:30 p.m. Mondays. Other guest lecturers in this series include: Mark Duplass, Brad Freidman, Carlos Guedes, James Kochalka, Alex Lindsay, Tim Mclaughlin, Lance Myers, The Octopus Project, Bob Sabiston And Addie Wagenknecht.
