Prof gives reading from latest tome “Modern Occult Rhetoric,” Nov. 9
Event: Joshua Gunn, assistant professor of communication studies at The University of Texas at Austin, will read from his book, “Modern Occult Rhetoric: Mass Media and the Drama of Secrecy in the Twentieth Century,” as part of a panel discussion on ineffability sponsored by the Undergraduate Writing Center.
When: 4 p.m., Nov. 9, 2007
Where: Follett’s Intellectual Property at the intersection of Guadalupe and 24th Street, across from The University of Texas at Austin campus.
Background: Gunn’s book “Modern Occult Rhetoric: Mass Media and the Drama of Secrecy in the Twentieth Century,” is a broadly interdisciplinary study of the pervasive secrecy in America cultural, political and religious discourse.
