Background: Thirty years ago, Francis Ford Coppola went into the jungles of the Philippines and came back with the legendary “Apocalypse Now” and the searing documentary, “Hearts of Darkness.”
“Youth Without Youth” is Coppola’s first directing foray in a decade. Shot in Romania, the film is slated for release by Sony Pictures Classic in fall 2007. “CODA: Thirty Years Later” is more than a ‘making of’ documentary, it is a personal exploration of the inspirations and obstacles during Coppola’s long career. It is both introspective and illuminating — Coppola shares his thoughts on filmmaking, creativity and the nature of consciousness in this hour-long documentary shot during the making of “Youth Without Youth.”
Coppola’s filmography includes masterpieces such as “The Godfather” trilogy, “Apocalypse Now” and “The Conversation.”
