Meet & Greet Your Academic Advisor Jan 16
Event: The Office of Student Affairs at the College of Communication will host an informal event to welcome back undergraduate College of Communication students and introduce them to their designated academic advisors. Refreshments will be served.
When: 5 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007
Where: Texas Union - Santa Rita Suite (3.502)
Background: In an effort to better serve students in the College of Communication, the Office of Student Affairs is centralizing its academic advising services and changing its appointment scheduling process effective Jan. 16.
The Office of Students Affairs is moving to an advising model in which a team of academic advisors is dedicated to each department within the college. This will enable students to have a single advisor through the course of their undergraduate experience.
Beginning Jan. 16, currently enrolled College of Communication students will be able to make their own advising appointments via a new online appointment system. Students will be able to log on and see their assigned advisor’s availability for a range of dates and select the appointment time that best fits their schedule. Appointments can still be made by phone through the Office of Student Affairs, but the online system provides an added level of convenience that includes e-mail reminders.
