Conference looks at future of television
Event: The Department of Radio-Television-Film hosts the “Flow” Conference: The Future of Television, Media Culture and Scholarship. Television and media scholars, members of the media, media activists, fans and policy-makers will engage topics that include: political resistance and the media, HBO's legacy and future, reality TV and the uses and meanings of television history.
The event is free and open to the public.
When: Thursday, Oct. 26 through Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006

Background: The Flow Conference features a series of roundtable discussions with topics created by “Flow” columnists. The goal of the conference is to promote discussion amongst scholars, members of the media industries, media activists, fans, and policy-makers over crucial issues related to television and media. Launched in 2004, “Flow” is an online journal of television and media studies that aims to provide a space where researchers, teachers, students and the public can read about and discuss the changing landscape of contemporary media at the speed that media moves.
