Olympus Photographer Lecture

Event: Photojournalists John Isaac and Jeffrey Aaronson will discuss the creative process and the tools behind their award-winning photography. The event is part of the “Meet the Pro” series, sponsored by Olympus, and will be moderated by UT Photojournalist Professor Eli Reed.

The event is free and open to the public.

Background: Jeffrey Aaronson’s photography is highly regarded in the publishing world where he works on assignment for such clients as Time, Life, National Geographic Society, Fortune, Business Week, New York Times Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. He is a member of American Society of Media Photographers and has taught several workshops on photojournalism, including his most recent one in Auvillar, France, which he conducted together with Olympus Visionaries Mark Greenberg and Larry Price.

John Isaac has had a distinguished photography career including twenty years from 1978 to 1998 with the United Nations in the Department of Public Information. Throughout his career, Isaac received 13 Nikon International photo contest prizes and Lifetime Achievement Award from International Photographic Council. Isaac has authored many books, including a series called “Children in Crisis.” Through this series, John gives a first-hand account of the daily lives of children and their families in troubled regions around the world. He co-authored “Endangered Species” for Sierra Club and “Coorg, Land of the Kodavas.” Besides his work with the United Nations, John has spent much of his photojournalist career dedicating his talent and time to working with landmine victims.
