Background: The U.S. Latino & Latina WWII Oral History Project, founded in 1999 by Dr. Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez, shares the untold stories of a generation of Latinos through an archive of videotaped interviews of men and women from the WWII era, along with digitized photographs, photocopies of discharge papers and other documents. The project has several components, including the student-written Narratives newspaper featuring interviews with veterans, a play and a documentary film.
The archives will be housed in the Rare Book and Manuscript section of the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection.
