BACKGROUND: Mark Halperin, political director of ABC News since October 1997, is responsible for the planning and editorial content of all political news on the network. In this role, he works with correspondents and producers for all ABC News programs, including World News Tonight, This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Nightline, Good Morning America, 20/20 and ABC news specials.
Halperin also regularly appears as a correspondent and political analyst on ABC News television and radio programs.
