Senior Fellows Program

The Senior Fellows Program is a College-wide honors program designed for students with the talent and interest to go beyond the usual undergraduate experience.

Latino Media Studies Program

The Latino Media Studies program is designed to introduce undergraduate students in the College of Communication to United States Latino and Latin American issues in media and communication. Successful completion of program requirements leads to a concentration certificate.

Honors Programs

There are a variety of Honors Programs available campus wide.

Semester in Los Angeles Program

The Semester in Los Angeles Program offers a unique opportunity for students in any major who are serious about exploring academic and professional interests in entertainment over the course of a semester in LA.

Elements of Computing Program

The Elements of Computing Program, offered through the Department of Computer Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin, provides non-CS majors with a background in computing fundamentals and an introduction to key application areas of computing. Successful completion of the program leads to an Elements of Computing certificate.

Business Foundations Program

The Business Foundations Program (BFP) allows non-business majors to take business courses as a supplement to their degree program in the College of Communication. Successful completion of the program requirements leads to a certificate in Business Foundations.

Bridging Disciplines Program

The Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDPs) are designed to complement your departmental major with an interdisciplinary specialization in one of the following areas: children and society; environment; ethics and leadership; population and public policy; cultures and identities; and technology and society. Admission to the Bridging Disciplines Programs is by application.

Freshmen Interest Groups (FIGs)

Freshman Interest Groups provide an ideal opportunity for you to get to know other first-year students in the College by taking a common set of classes, including a special seminar that introduces you to important campus resources and helps you get a jump start on student life at The University of Texas at Austin.

Intellectual Entrepreneurship Program

The pre-graduate school Intellectual Entrepreneurship Program connects you with faculty and veteran graduate students in their field of study to explore those unique aspects of graduate study that make it distinct from the undergraduate experience.

UT Film Institute (UTFI) Internships

UTFI partners with Burnt Orange Productions, LLC to provide internship opportunities for you on feature films. Based in the College of Communication, UTFI’s internships frequently lean on skills taught in College of Communication classes, but students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
