Each academic department in the College offers honors college in the major. For more information on departmental honors programs, please contact the departmental academic advisor.
To be eligible for the Dean’s list per semester, a student must have a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours taken and achieve a minimum semester GPA of 3.5 with no incomplete grades, and no grades below “C”. Visit this page to learn about a wide range of honors options for undergraduate students.
Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma are national honor societies that recognize scholastic attainment during the freshman year. Members are chosen each fall and spring. Membership is offered to students who earn a grade point average of at least 3.50 during the first semester of their freshman year while completing at least twelve semester hours of coursework. Students who do not qualify during the first semester may become eligible by earning a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the first two semesters of work combined.
Annually, there is a College Honors Convocation followed by a UT Campus-wide Honors Ceremony held in the beginning of April to celebrate students’ high scholastic achievements.
