The Business Foundations Program offers six business courses (four upper-division and two lower-division) for non-business majors which can be taken in any combination as a supplement to an undergraduate program. You may choose to take one or more of the courses to satisfy an interest or need for specific instruction. The entire program is designed to provide a foundation in business concepts and practice for students who plan to enter the workforce or a graduate degree program upon completion of their undergraduate degree.
To Receive a Business Foundations Certificate you must:
A certificate will be awarded if you complete all required courses with the appropriate grades and submits an online request for certification. This online request should be submitted AFTER you have completed all four lower-division courses with a grade of "C" or better in each course.

Finance 320F - Foundations of Finance
The principles of financial management in a business enterprise, the operation of financial markets, and the trading of securities in those markets. (Pre-requisites: Accounting 310F & MIS 311F)
Legal Environment of Business 320F - Foundations of Business Law
The legal problems confronting business representatives in a global environment. The course is comprised of four units: United States legal system, regulatory law, tort law, and contract law. (No course prerequisites)
Management 320F - Foundations of Management
The perspectives of strategy, planning, organizational behavior, and operations management as they relate to present and emerging management issues. (No course prerequisites)
Marketing 320F - Foundations of Marketing
The history of marketing, marketing systems, marketing activities, the nature of marketing strategy, and the development and implementation of marketing strategy. (No course prerequisites)
Accounting 310F - Foundations of Accounting
Basic financial and accounting concepts and practices emphasizing the development and use of accounting reports.
Management Information Systems 311F - Foundations of Information Systems and Statistics
The use of information systems and statistics in organizations, including use of spreadsheet software in computer laboratory exercises.
