Honors Day 2008
College of Communication Convocation
Date: Saturday, April 12, 2008
Time: 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Texas Union Ballroom, UNB 3.202
The celebration will begin with a catered reception, followed by a special address by Eric Newton, Vice President for Journalism Program of John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. He has been selected as the 2008 recipient of the DeWitt Carter Reddick Award. In addition to honoring our outstanding students, we will be honoring the 2008 College of Communication Outstanding Alumnus, David Weeks, as well as the College of Communication Staff Excellence Award winners. The festivities will conclude with the recognition of this year’s College and Distinguished Scholars.
Eligible students will receive invitations for the event and must RSVP in person March 17 - April 4 in CMA 4.140. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. You will receive your event admission tickets upon RSVP (maximum three tickets per student). Seating is limited for the College of Communication Honors Day Convocation. Admission tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis upon RSVP in person in CMA 4.140. There will be no admission to the Convocation without an admission ticket. If you are unable to attend the College of Communication event, Honors Day packets (which include honors certificates and medallions) will be available for pick-up in OSA, CMA 4.140, beginning Monday, April 14th.
