Invitation to Submit Proposals for 2009 College of Communication Study Abroad Programs

Summer Session Abroad Programs

Monday, February 25, 2008 is the College of Communication extended deadline to submit proposals for 2009 Summer Session Abroad programs. Provost Initiative Summer Session Abroad Courses and programs are comprised of three-credit hour, six-week international study courses taught by UT faculty members (or by approved local faculty) at international locations.  Courses can be proposed for Summer Session I, Summer Session II, or either session. Colleges are invited to put forth proposals.  A select list of destinations is suggested.

Instructions: Proposals should be submitted to the Dean’s Office, to the attention of Steve Reese, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. An International Programs Committee will review the proposals and forward recommended proposals to Vice Provost Terri Givens by the general University deadline (expected to be early March). Proposal selections will be communicated to faculty, department chairs, and Deans by late April 2008.

Maymester Abroad Programs

Faculty in the College of Communication are invited to submit proposals for innovative courses to be taught abroad under the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost Initiative in International Studies for 2009. The Initiative supports funding for colleges and their faculties to offer courses through Maymester Abroad Programs in a range of locations around the world.

Internal Deadline for Proposals: Friday, February 1, 2008
Proposal selections will be communicated to faculty, department chairs, and Deans by late April 2008. Copies of past College of Communication proposals are available by request. Contact Kat Yerger in the Dean’s Office.
