Communication Career Services (CCS) has established an annual fund to provide financial support for the career development activities of College of Communication students active in UT student organizations and registered with CCS. These funds are awarded on a competitive basis once each semester in the form of grants. Application criteria are listed below.
First application deadline: 5:00 pm, Thursday, September 11th
Grant award recipients announced: by 5:00 pm on Friday, September 19th
Second application deadline: 5:00 pm, Thursday, February 5th
Grant award recipients announced: by 5:00 pm on Friday, February 13th
Grant money can be used at anytime during the academic year the grant is awarded (September 1, 2008 – August 31, 2009).
Please check with the Financial Aid Office to see how a CCS grant might impact your financial aid package.
Applicant(s) must be:
1) Currently enrolled full-time in UT as a student in the College of Communication.
2) Grant recipients must use money prior to graduation.
3) Currently registered with Communication Career Services.
4) Affiliated with a student organization registered with the University of Texas.
5) Sponsored by a member of the College of Communication Faculty or Staff
PLEASE NOTE -- One-time eligibility. Students may only receive one (1) CCS Career Development Grant during their academic careers.
Grants of up to $500.00 per applicant are available. Students may submit joint applications if they so choose; however student organizations may not submit applications. Student organizations are encouraged to apply for CCS professional speaker's funding. Contact CCS for more information.
To apply for a grant, students will need to submit the following application package:
1) Completed application form (Link located at the top of page.)
2) On a separate sheet(s) of paper, provide details of the grant request to include: (1) specific amount of grant request (including a detailed budget estimate); (2) proposed use of funds (What activity will requested funding support?); (3) justification for the request (Activity must be career development, job development or professional networking related, and must be specifically related to the applicant's major field of study. Funds will not be awarded to support tuition, class-related fees or event sponsorship); and (4) statement of career goals and how this activity will help advance/clarify these career goals.
3) Current resume
