Advertising — ranked 4th by U.S. News & World Report (Feb. 2003)
Public relations — ranked 7th by U.S. News & World Report (Feb. 2003)
Audiology — ranked 13th by U.S. News & World Report (Feb. 2003)
Speech Pathology — ranked 12th by U.S. News & World Report (Feb. 2003)
In 1996, the National Communication Association ranked the following Communication Studies programs in the top three:
• Applied Communication
• Communication Theory and Research
• Critical/Cultural Media Studies
• Organizational Communication
• Rhetoric
In May 2001, the Communication Studies program was ranked first (according to department chairs) and second (according to faculty) among 27 schools in the International Communication Association’s “Evaluating Doctoral Programs in Communication.”
