Iris Hudson Moore

Iris Hudson Moore (Fort Worth, TX) is a community volunteer with a long-standing connection to Austin and The University. Having grown up in Austin, Mrs. Moore developed a strong love and appreciation for burnt orange. She attended The University of Texas where she served as a Longhorn Cheerleader for three years and served as an active student representative for the College of Communication. Mrs. Moore was also selected Texas Relays Queen and was chosen to serve on The University of Texas Sweetheart Court.

Her involvement in the community continues in Ft. Worth where she and her husband of 24 years are raising their sons. Mrs. Moore has served on the board of Cook Children’s Hospital where she was active in fund raising and child advocacy. She has also served on the board of the Texas Ballet as well as a committee member for the Jewel Charity Ball. Mrs. Moore has worked with the Ft. Worth Zoo where she served in numerous capacities including serving as co-chairman of the zoo’s primary fundraiser, The Zoo Ball, for three years.

As an active mother of three teenage boys, Mrs. Moore has served in various volunteer and coordinating capacities at All Saints Episcopal School of Ft. Worth as well as numerous other non-profits.

Mrs. Moore graduated from The University of Texas in 1982 with a B.A. in Speech and worked in various capacities upon graduation for CullenFrost Bancshares in Houston.
