Peggy Hubble

Peggy Hubble (Austin, TX) is executive vice president of Vollmer Public Relations, the largest independent full-service public relations and communications management firm based in the Southwest, with offices in Houston, Dallas, Austin and New York.

Hubble has been active in the business and civic circles in Texas, New York and Washington, D.C. She has directed statewide and national media, public relations and event planning activities throughout her career in a variety of areas, including public policy, business, health, education, transportation, technology and the arts.

Her clients over the years have included Scholastic, St. David’s Healthcare Partnership, Cisco Systems, Texas Good Roads Transportation Association, the National Conference of State Legislatures/Texas Legislature, The University of Texas, the Texas Cultural Trust/Texas Medal of Arts Awards, the IC2 Institute, the Austin Museum of Art and KLRU/Austin Public Television.

Hubble moved to Austin, Texas ten years ago from New York City where she was director of news information and national press for NBC News, serving as the chief spokesperson and overseeing all press, communications and public relations activity for NBC News and its people, policies and programs. This included Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, Today, Meet the Press, prime time documentaries, special reports, breaking news and presidential election coverage.

She began her career at Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), first in Washington, D.C. and later in New York City. As director of national press relations, she handled national media on all aspects of PBS issues and programs. She also served for a year as the executive director of the Independent Feature Project (IFP) in New York City, a national non-profit organization for independent feature and documentary filmmakers.

Through these high-profile positions, Hubble has developed strong ties with leading national figures in both print and electronic media. Since moving to Texas, Hubble has extended her network by establishing valuable relationships with state and local media, as well as business, political and cultural leaders.

Hubble is a founder and serves on the executive committee of the Texas Book Festival, chaired by First Lady Laura Bush. She has served as a member and chair of the Dean’s Advisory Council at The University of Texas College of Communication, and on the Board of Directors of the Austin Film Society and Austin’s Center for Battered Women/Safe Place. She is a 1996 graduate of Leadership Texas.
